Today I’m sharing the BEST Immunity Boost Juice to fight cold and flu this winter. It’s no surprise that as the weather gets colder we need to ward off sickness! Whether you’re trying to avoid catching sick, or you’re trying to get over your sickness, this little drink will do the trick to fight away those bugs.
This Immunity Boost Juice is packed with ginger, turmeric, citrus fruits and tons of vit-c. So that you can get through your day without worrying about a measly cold getting in the way. And bonus is that it actually tastes delicious! Certainly, it’s not a drag to drink to your health with this sweet juice.
In fact, it tastes a lot lot like those $8.49 fresh pressed juices we are victim to buying at the grocers. (You’ll save a lot of money making it at home). I like to sip this Immunity Boost Juice in the morning when I wake up. It helps me fight off sickness, and be my best self all day long.
Now, let me tell you exactly how to make this Immunity Boost Juice so that you can fight off sickness ASAP.
BEST Immunity Boost Juice to fight cold & flu
For this recipe you will need:
- fresh ginger root
- fresh turmeric root
- manuka honey (or local honey, or agave)
- warm water
I’ve chosen to use manuka honey to sweeten this drink due to its antibacterial properties, and because honey feels so good on sore throats. But if you don’t eat honey then you can sub with agave, or skip altogether.
What you’ll need
If using a juicer:
Time to dust off your juicer, because you’re going to want it for this recipe. It makes the juicing process fast, easy and efficient. You won’t believe you ever paid such a sum for fresh pressed juice at the grocers when you can make juice at home that’s just as tasty.
If you don’t have a juicer you might like to consider getting one. They’re great for making endless flavours of juices, not just this immunity boost juice, and you can buy a good quality juicer for a decent price. The version I use is by Hamilton Beach and you can buy off Amazon for $50 or so. (Think of it this way; by the time you’ve bought 6 bottles of fresh pressed juice, you’ve paid for your juicer).

Without using a juicer:
Now, if you don’t have a juicer and still want to make this recipe, it’s possible. However, you’ll have to modify the recipe a bit. My recommendation is to buy 100% carrot juice to use in this recipe, and use a lemon squeezer to juice the citrus fruits.
As for the ginger and turmeric. I still like to use the fresh stuff. Slice into thin strips and toss it into the finished juice to steep for a few hours or overnight (or indefinitely depending how strong you like it). See “tips for this recipe” below for more details.
Tips for this recipe
When using a juicer:
The amount of prepping to make this juice will depend on the quality of your juicer. My juicer is entry level, and so I do a little bit of prep such as slicing the skins from the orange and lemon before juicing. As well as cutting the carrots into rough chunks. This makes it easier on the juicer to pass the ingredients through. I recommend to do the same if you are using a standard juicer.
If you have a high performance juicer, you can simply toss the ingredient in with no prep.
Without using a juicer:
If you choose to forgo using a juicer for this recipe, and instead opt-in to do it by hand, then I recommend you buy 100% fresh carrot juice to add to the juice blend. The oranges and lemons can be juiced using a lemon squeezer.
I still recommend, however, to buy the ginger and turmeric fresh for better taste and texture. Peel the skins and slice into thin strips. Then add to the juice when finished and let it steep overnight, or for at least a few hours. (Or, keep them in the juice if you really like the spicy taste of ginger and turmeric). Then, use a small strainer to catch any slices of ginger and turmeric when pouring into a cup.
